Fady Mahouly
The media office in the Ministry of Finance issued the following: “Some media outlets, attributed to the Minister of Finance, Yassin Jaber, published false numbers that most likely resulted from a misunderstanding or lack of careful follow-up of his words and the course of what was allocated to help those affected by the Israeli attacks on the health, social, relief, and other levels. It states that the money allocated in this regard is only 50 million US dollars, while the truth is that this amount is what was allocated to the Ministry Social affairs alone from the public treasury, in addition to an amount of $200 million from the World Bank and 45 million euros, in addition to another 32 million from the European Union to the Ministry itself. This is in addition to the tens of millions of dollars that the Ministry of Finance disbursed to the health sector through the Ministry of Health, in addition to the tens of millions of dollars that were disbursed through the High Relief Commission and the Council of the South, as they are the institutions concerned with relief work, in addition to the aid and support available through the United Nations and humanitarian institutions, which amounted to more than 130. Therefore, clarification is required.”
